ZAGREB EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

More than a year later, we are still on the ground, helping determined Zagreb recover and rebuild lives of its citizens after an unparalleled disaster, caring life of Anamarija Carević. Young Anamarija was a child of Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A pile of tumbled bricks, dust through which it could not be seen, photos and footage of the earthquake-damaged vault of the Basilica in Palmotićeva Street circled Croatia and the world and became one of the symbols of the destruction that this natural disaster left on our country’s capital.

One shattering moment can wreck a community and leave us all traumatized, displaced and vulnerable. Earthquakes are especially devastating, as the impacts of economic and infrastructural damage can last for multiple generations.
